Photography Competition 2017

The annual MCCG Photography Competition has been held since 1998 and it is now a firm fixture in the local calendar, last year attracting over 200 entries.

As it has grown, the objectives of the competition have remained the same:
  • to raise awareness of local environmental issues especially with children
  • to encourage people to enjoy the variety of flora and fauna in their local environment
  • to promote awareness of the Brisbane catchment groups and to encourage membership and participation.

In 2017 over $1400 in cash prizes will be awarded for photos taken within the Moggill Creek and other Brisbane catchments. This year we have 2 entry categories:

1. Open category

In the Open category, members of the public may submit photos of native plants, native wildlife or people enjoying activities in the catchment.

2.  Young persons category

In this category, young people may submit photos of native wildlife and plants in our local catchment.  There are separate awards for photos from Grades 1-6 and from Grades 7-12.

*Note: there is no Schools category this year.
